Dr. Simon Spangler<br/>LL.M. (UCT)


Simon Spangler specialises in EU and German antitrust law, in particular restrictive practices, prohibition of abuse, distribution law, merger control, state aid, German and European commercial law as well as adjoining legal fields. He advises national and international companies in various sectors, including the public sector.

Simon Spangler is a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht (German Antitrust Lawyers’ Association) and the KartellrechtsForum Frankfurt (German Antitrust Law Forum).


Simon Spangler has been a lawyer with Oppenhoff since 2013. He studied law in Heidelberg and Kiel where he received his doctorate with his dissertation on an antitrust law topic under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jickeli. During his traineeship he also worked in various departments within a large international law firm in Frankfurt am Main and at the Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Thereafter, he continued his studies at the University of Aberdeen and the University of Cape Town (LL.M.) and wrote his Master's thesis on an antitrust law topic. Prior to joining Oppenhoff, he worked for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, since 2011, where he advised on antitrust and state aid matters.
