What does the application procedure involve?

After receiving your online or written application, we will initially send you written confirmation of receipt. If we also think you could be well-suited to our firm, we will contact you shortly thereafter to agree on a personal meeting. At this interview, you will meet partners and associates of the practice group in which you wish to work, receive clear-cut answers to your questions and gain a first impression of your future workplace.

What about the work-life balance?

We want our employees to find lasting enjoyment in their work.
This requires them to also be able to lead a fulfilling private life. For this reason, we do not practice a formal “presence culture” – in quiet periods our lawyers can go home earlier. Weekends are for recreational purposes and you can also take your 30 days holiday – we make sure of this.
We view parental leave as a personal enrichment for our employees and expressively support it.

Do you have part-time associates?

Naturally, we have associates and partners who work part-time for a variety of reasons. We support our employees in reconciling their work with their family. Moreover, we offer individual solutions, e.g. by giving time-off to write doctorates or sit for specialist legal or tax examinations.

How is the pay?

Our lawyers receive a top-market salary which generally increases with every year of service. Our junior partners participate in the firm’s profits through a bonus regulation.

What training will I receive?

We offer our employees a personal and extensive training programme at all stages of their professional development. Our law student programme sommeruni@oppenhoff offers compact practical and theoretical training. Legal trainees have a choice of regular lectures and workshops, giving them insight into countless areas of law and reinforcing their expertise.

What are my chances of promotion?

Our firm offers above-average career development perspectives. After three years you can be made junior partner and partner after another three years.

Do you offer secondments?

We regularly work with leading law firms in important jurisdictions throughout the world. Upon individual agreement, we can organise your secondment with one of these firms or even with clients in Germany and abroad.
