New guidelines and EU standard contractual clauses for data transfers to third countries
Data transfers to third countries outside the EU have been made considerably more difficult by the Schrems II decision of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) of 16 July 2020. While the EU-US Privacy Shield has been declared null and void, the EU standard contractual clauses, among others, continue to be valid, but in certain cases need to be supplemented by addition-al protective measures.
