Oppenhoff & Partner appoints new equity partners

With effect from 1 January 2020, Oppenhoff & Partner has included Marc Krischer, LL.M. (tax law), Dr. Christoph Niemeyer, Dr. Markus Rasner (corporate law/M&A), Dr. Axel Wenzel, LL.M. (corporate law/succession, wealth & foundations) and Dr. Alexander Willemsen (employment law) in its circle of shareholders. Dr. Hanna Schmidt (IT&C) was made junior partner. The career steps follow the lawyers' contributions to sustainable client success in important growth areas.

Profiles of the new partners:

Marc Krischer, LL.M., specialises in tax and accounting advice in the field of M&A, the structuring and restructuring of corporate groups as well as advice during tax audits and legal remedies both in and out of court. A further focus of his advice is on issues relating to value added tax, insurance tax and tax compliance requirements. In addition to his work as a tax consultant, he has been qualified as an auditor since 2009 (working in his own practice). 

Dr. Christoph Niemeyer advises in particular on corporate transactions, joint venture projects, reorganisations, post-M&A disputes and issues concerning corporate and capital markets law. He also advises banks and insurance companies on regulatory issues, such as governance structures, restructuring, M&A, run-off, outsourcing of functions and capital investment. A focus of his advisory services is transactions with a reference to Italy.

Dr. Markus Rasner specialises in comprehensively advising on national and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions. He has an extensive track record of transactions in the mid-cap segment and has been assisting financial investors, family offices, entrepreneurs and corporates for over 15 years. He also has extensive experience in advising Asian investors. Markus Rasner additionally advises on distressed M&A transactions and complex corporate law issues. Furthermore, he has advised providers of M&A insurance solutions for many years and has established a market-leading team in this field at Oppenhoff.

Dr. Axel Wenzel, LL.M., specialises in advising companies, entrepreneurs and foundations on all aspects of German and European corporate law, in particular on national and cross-border reorganisations, acquisitions, joint ventures and SE structures. He advises wealthy individuals, family businesses and owner families as well as charitable or private foundations on corporate and asset succession.

Dr. Alexander Willemsen advises and represents German and foreign clients in all matters of individual and collective employment law. His main focuses are the reorganisation of companies and businesses as well as the employment law aspects of M&A transactions. In addition, he specialises in advising companies on the drafting and termination of service agreements with board members, managing directors and senior executives. Alexander Willemsen acts on the employer’s side in legal disputes with works councils and trade unions.

Dr. Hanna Schmidt advises and represents national and international enterprises in technology-related transactions, in particular in software development projects. She also focuses on the drafting of general terms and conditions and sales-related contracts, e-commerce and product liability. Dr. Hanna Schmidt has experience in insurance law, especially in the field of public liability insurance and manager liability.
