Oppenhoff advises KNDS Germany on the Acquisition of a New production site

Oppenhoff advised KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG on the acquisition of a new production site in Görlitz from Alstom Transportation Germany GmbH.

With this move, KNDS Deutschland is creating additional capacity for the production of assemblies, including for the LEOPARD 2 main battle tank, PUMA infantry fighting vehicles, and artillery and reconnaissance systems. At least 350 of Alstom Transportation Germany’s current 700 employees are expected to continue working for KNDS Deutschland at this site in the future.

The Oppenhoff team, led by Michael Abels and Mareike Heesing (Aerospace & Defense), included Dr. Stefanie Minzenmay, Caner Ertasoglu (both Real Estate), Stephan Müller, Juliane Prickartz (both Environmental Law), Dr. Alexander Willemsen (Labor Law), Marc Krischer (Tax), Dr. Daniel Dohrn (Antitrust Law), and Sebastian Gutmann (Corporate/M&A).

The Aerospace and Defense practice group at Oppenhoff advises domestic and foreign defense companies on all aspects of their business activities, including mergers and acquisitions, merger control, investment control, structuring of joint ventures, project companies, or collaborations, strategies for tenders and negotiations, contract drafting, and export and military weapons control. Most recently, the sector group advised KNDS on the Franco-German defense program Main Ground Combat System (MGCS) and on its implementation of the new unified corporate identity. In addition, Oppenhoff is involved in a number of current procurement projects for air and land forces.
