Experience

Edder Cifuentes specialises in M&A, corporate and commercial law, renewable energies and infrastructure law as well as capital markets and venture capital law. He regularly advises clients on cross-border projects, in particular between Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region) and Chile and Latin America.

He is ranked by Chambers Global as the only foreign expert in Germany for Corporate/M&A in Chile.

Edder Cifuentes has been elected by its members as Director of the German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Chile). AHK Chile is one of the largest and most important chambers of commerce in Latin America, successfully connecting business and people between Germany and Chile for more than 100 years. He is also a founding member of the Chile + DACH Initiative, the leading network connecting professionals across the DACH region with Chile in the fields of business, trade and investment.

Education

Edder Cifuentes has worked at Oppenhoff since 2014. He studied law at the Universidad de Chile (Santiago, Chile) and at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). Cifuentes is Chilean lawyer and member of the Chilean Bar Association as well as the Cologne Bar Association (Germany). Previously, he worked as senior associate at the Chilean law firm Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana focusing on advisory and transactional corporate law issues for a variety of local and international corporate clients. Prior thereto he worked at the legal desk of Coca-Cola in Santiago, Chile. Edder Cifuentes holds a Master of Law and Business (M.L.B) degree from Bucerius Law School/WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (Hamburg and Vallendar, Germany). He is Ph.D. student at Bucerius Law School.
