Experience

Dr. Christiane Berr has many years of experience in the field of distribution and commercial law. She assists companies in establishing and restructuring their distribution systems, with a particular focus on franchise, agency and dealer models, as well as selective distribution. In this context, Christiane Berr also provides comprehensive advice on issues relating to distribution antitrust law and offers support in the event of supply chain disruptions. Christiane Berr possesses extensive knowledge of the consumer goods sector.

Another key area of Christiane Berr’s practice is logistics law. Here, she primarily advises on the drafting and negotiation of transport, warehousing and other logistics agreements, including cross-border arrangements. Furthermore, she assists companies with liability issues and exit scenarios.

Christiane Berr is a member of the German Society for Transport Law (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Transportrecht e.V.), the German Society for Distribution Law (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Vertriebsrecht e.V.) and the German Franchise Association (Deutscher Franchiseverband e.V.).

Education

Christiane Berr has been a partner at Oppenhoff since May 2026. She studied law at Philipps University of Marburg and the University of East Anglia in England, and completed her legal training in Wiesbaden, including placements at an international commercial law firm and a pharmaceutical group in Frankfurt. In 2012, she obtained her doctorate from the University of Hamburg on a topic relating to transport law.

Before joining Oppenhoff, she had been working as a counsel at an international law firm since 2023. Prior to that, she worked as a senior legal manager at a company from 2021 to 2023, where she advised on strategic procurement. Previously, she spent 14 years at an international law firm, most recently as a counsel from 2013 to 2021.
