Oppenhoff advises Alfred Landecker Foundation on the establishment of the Adenauer School of Government
Oppenhoff has advised Alfred Landecker Foundation on the long-term funding of the Adenauer School of Government (ASG) newly founded by the University of Cologne and has supported the contract negotiations.
The ASG aims to combine cutting-edge research with innovative teaching, following the Anglo-Saxon model, and to position itself as a leading and independent centre for public policy, governance and administrative sciences. At its core, the ASG seeks to train a new generation of decision-makers able to respond to the major societal and political challenges of our time in a scientifically sound, responsible and effective manner. The ASG will receive long-term funding, with an initial annual budget of ten million euros.
Alfred Landecker Foundation was established in 2019 by the Reimann entrepreneurial family. Based in Berlin, the foundation supports projects that commemorate the Holocaust, combat antisemitism, and strengthen democracy. In times of growing geopolitical tensions, social polarisation and the rapid loss of trust in political institutions, the foundation sees its central mission as strengthening and defending democratic principles and constitutional structures. The funding of the Adenauer School of Government exemplifies this commitment.
The Oppenhoff team, led by Dr Axel Wenzel, comprised Marc Krischer, Georg Lecheler, Marc Alexander Häger, Holger Hofmann, David Falkowski, Franziska Goetjes and Jan Keesen.
