Oppenhoff continues to expand its advisory services in the insurance sector. Dr. Kai Goretzky joined the firm as a new partner at the Frankfurt office on April 1, 2026. He is joining from the Frankfurt office of Dentons, where he served as a partner heading the insurance law practice across Europe.
Kai Goretzky has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial sectors. He specializes in insurance regulatory law, intermediary law, and insurance contract law, as well as in the specific compliance issues facing the insurance industry.
Firm spokesperson Jörn Kuhn: “With Dr. Kai Goretzky, we are gaining a highly renowned lawyer with a broad network for our firm. We are very pleased to have him join our team. With his proven expertise and deep industry knowledge, he will strengthen our insurance practice as a trusted advisor, particularly in insurance contract law.”
Dr. Kai Goretzky: “I am very pleased to be joining Oppenhoff and look forward in particular to working with Anna-Catharina von Girsewald, the head of the insurance practice. The firm is excellently positioned in the market and already has an outstanding international network, which provides me with the ideal platform to comprehensively advise clients in the insurance and financial sectors. The firm’s growth trajectory is also accompanied by exciting goals that we aim to achieve together, and to which I will contribute my part.”
Oppenhoff provides comprehensive advice to national and international insurers, intermediaries, and investors at the intersection of transactions, regulatory law, and insurance contract law. A particular focus is on supporting complex M&A projects in insurance distribution, as well as on challenging regulatory issues and coverage disputes.
With the addition of Kai Goretzky, we are strengthening our position as a full-service advisor and can now jointly provide our clients with even more comprehensive advice across the entire value chain in the insurance sector.
