Martin Nebeling studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Münster. In 1996, he began his legal career as a legal advisor and head of the legal department of a medium-sized group of companies in the temporary employment and industrial services sector. He has been a specialist lawyer for labor law since 2002. Before joining Oppenhoff in 2025, he was a long-standing partner at Bird & Bird.
He regularly speaks on labor law topics, including at events organized by Euroforum and Beck-Verlag. He is also the author of numerous publications and co-editor of the commentary “Praxis des Arbeitsrechts” (Practice of Labor Law) by Berscheid/Kunz/Brand/Nebeling, in which he is jointly responsible for the chapter “Betriebsinhaberwechsel” (Change of Business Owner), among others.
Martin Nebeling is a member of the Legal Committee and examiner at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce, a former lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management (FOM) in Essen/Düsseldorf, and currently a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration NRW (FHöV) in Duisburg. In addition, he was the long-standing national president of the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats) and is currently the federal chairman of the Association of Catholic Entrepreneurs (BKU).
