Companies headquartered outside of the European Economic Area in particular face the question of whether the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") applies to them. In view of the considerable sanctions for failing to comply with the GDPR, it is important that companies know whether they need to comply with the requirements of the GDPR.
