Oppenhoff & Partner grows further and appoints three new partners
The law firm has elected three new partners with effect as per 1 January 2012, namely Dr. Maxim Kleine (competition), Myriam Schilling (M&A Corporate) and Dr. Thomas Utzerath (litigation & arbitration). Three new junior partners have also been appointed.
Senior partner Michael Oppenhoff said: "The election reflects the excellent work of our new partners for the firm. They strengthen the firm in areas that are of particular strategic importance for us. We want to expand these and other areas and we are, for example, currently hiring several young lawyers for the Corporate M&A, litigation & arbitration and I,T&C practices."
The newly elected partners are:
Dr. Maxim Kleine: The 37-year-old lawyer advises on German and European antitrust law, in particular on antitrust proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, on German and European merger control issues, on the structuring of cooperations and joint ventures as well as on lititgation & arbitration in these areas. He is particularly experienced in antitrust issues in connection with distribution systems. He was recently classed amongst the top 25 German antitrust lawyers in German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche.
Myriam Schilling: The 34-year-old lawyer specialises in advising German and international clients on national and cross-border M&A transactions and joint venture projects. She also regularly advises international enterprises on group restructurings, reorganisation measures and other general questions of corporate law. She recently advised inter alia Coty on the acquisition of the cosmetics manufacturer Dr. Scheller, Pfizer on the integration of Wyeth, and the Italian State Railway on the establishment of a joint venture with Cube Transport for purchasing the German Arriva business from Deutsche Bahn.
Dr. Thomas Utzerath: The 34-year-old lawyer specialises in litigation and arbitration proceedings, in particular in the counselling and representation of enterprises in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, medical technology and chemical sectors. He has also extensive expertise in the field of product liability and product safety.
The law firm recently gained a new partner by the name of Jan Möller in its Corporate M&A department. Möller transferred from Clifford Chance; he has advised on several transactions in the healthcare and retail industries and has special expertise in the counselling of Japanese enterprises.
Oppenhoff & Partner will have 26 partners and a total of about 55 lawyers as of January 2012.
The law firm is also expanding in other areas. Three new junior partners were also appointed with effect as per 1 January 2012:
Holger Hofmann: The 33-year-old lawyer advises German and international enterprises in the field of public law, in particular environmental law and public procurement law.
Marc Krischer, LL.M.: The 32-year-old tax adviser specialises in the provision of tax advice on corporate acquisitions, group restructurings and external audits as well as in accounting and valuation law.
Dr. Johannes Rabus: The 35-year-old lawyer advises on legal issues concerning IT contracts, sales and general business terms and conditions, in particular on technology-based transactions such as outsourcing and software development projects.
