Oppenhoff advises IPS on the acquisition of the majority holding in the largest Italian press distributor Messaggerie Internazionali S.p.A.

The Meckenheim press services provider IPS is acquiring retroactively as per 1 January 51% of the subsidiary of the Milan publishing house Messaggerie Giornali e Riviste.

IPS is Germany’s largest independent press distributor. Messaggerie Internazionali is the leading press importer on the Italian market and includes inter alia numerous well-known German daily newspapers and magazines amongst its products.

An Oppenhoff & Partner team comprising Dr. Klaus Günther and Alf Baars extensively advised on the acquisition of the share majority, which was entirely governed by German law.

IPS was advised on questions of Italian law by the Italian law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners.
