Oppenhoff & Partner advises anew on cross-border relocation of seat

The law firm has advised a family-owned holding organised as an SE in the relocation of its seat from Germany to Austria. Such a cross-border transfer of the registered seat is only possible in the legal form of a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE) and has been implemented only a few times to date.

An Oppenhoff & Partner team comprising Dr. Harald Gesell and Dr. Axel Wenzel advised the company on this transaction. Gesell had already devised the very first relocation of seat of this kind at the beginning of 2007.

The Austrian side of the transaction was handled by a team from Wolf Theiss led by Dr. Clemens Philipp Schindler.
