The Oppenhoff & Partner team was led by Ronald Meißner and Myriam Schilling (both corporate law/M&A). Further team members were Dr. Gunnar Knorr (tax law), Christoph Appel, Ellen Eichberg (both corporate law/M&A), Dr. Maxim Kleine and Dr. Daniel Dohrn (both antitrust law). The law firm Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners in Rome advised on questions of Italian law.
Ferrovie, with more than 80,000 employees and a railway network of over 16,700 kilometres, is one of the largest corporate groups in Italy. Through the acquisition of Arriva, the consortium run by Ferrovie secures a market share in a total of 5% of the German regional railway system.
