Stephan König specialises in mergers and acquisitions and on the co-ordination of cross-border transactions. He has particular experience in the automotive, engineering and retail sectors. Further areas of expertise are company law and restructuring projects.

Career / Education

Stephan is a founding partner of Oppenhoff & Partner. He was a partner at Oppenhoff & Rädler / Linklaters LLP from 1992 to 2007. He studied law at the Universities of Cologne, Geneva and Munich (Dr. iur.). He also holds an M.C.J. from New York University School of Law. Before entering into private practice, Stephan spent a year as a research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich. He also worked as a foreign associate for a major US law firm in London for one year. Stephan is a permanent member and President of the Mergers & Acquisitions Commission of the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats).
