Maxim Kleine advises on German and European antitrust law, in particular on antitrust proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission, on German and European merger control issues as well as on the structuring of cooperations and joint ventures. Maxim Kleine is particularly experienced in antitrust issues in connection with distribution systems. He also has special expertise in the defence and media industries.
He was classed among the top 25 German antitrust lawyers by German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche in 2011.

Career / Education

Maxim is a partner of Oppenhoff & Partner. In 2006 he began his career as an associate in the antitrust practice of the law firm of White & Case in Hamburg. He studied law at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. After concluding his studies, Maxim worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Public International and European Law of the University of Göttingen (Dr. iur. 2005). Before beginning his career as a lawyer Maxim held posts in the antitrust law divisions of various international law firms in Germany and Brussels as well as in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission.
