Axel Wenzel specialises in the counselling of national and international enterprises on issues of German and European corporate law as well as in the provision of legal advice in M&A transactions and joint ventures.

Career / Education

Axel Wenzel is a junior partner of the firm Oppenhoff & Partner. Prior thereto he was an associate at Linklaters LLP. He studied law at the University of Cologne, obtained his doctorate in law (Dr. jur.) under Prof. Dr. Peter Krebs und acquired an LL.M. (International Commercial and Business Law) at the University of East Anglia (Norwich, England). During his legal internship, he worked inter alia in the legal department of the Gerling Group and at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht - BaFin).
